(As a group) Configure a Domain Controller:

  1. Remove the DHCP / DNS Server completed previously. Also, each student should remove their client, db1, wps1, and cis335-g#-s#-fs1 virtual machines, too.

  2. Deploy new server from CIS-335-Windows2025-Template.

    • A. Name server groupX-DC01 where X is your group’s number
    • B. Use the customization specification for a Static IP
    • C. IP address: 192.168.X.1
    • D. Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    • E. Gateway/Router: 192.168.X.254

  3. Add Roles for Active Directory Domain Services, DHCP Server, DNS Server

  4. Configure Machine for AD / DHCP / DNS (as demo’d in class)

  5. Open Active Directory Users and Computers

    • A. Create a new OU called Staff
      • i. Create new user accounts named: staff1, staff2, staff3. Use the default course password for all accounts.
    • B. Create a new OU called Faculty
      • i. Create a user account for each member of the group. Allow each member to choose their preferred username, and use the default course password for all accounts.
      • ii. Create an additional user account named wkapakos, and use the default course password for this account as well.
